Help us bring mobility and happiness this Holiday Season

We are pleased to be able to celebrate with Free Wheelchair Mission this holiday season. With the help of Causas para el Cambio-Ecuador, University of Millagro, and the Lions Club of Milagro, together with 16 other Lions Clubs in Ecuador we’ll be able to provide mobility to hundreds of individuals that have been kept locked within their limited spaces.

A container with 440 wheelchairs arrived in Guayaquil on the 30th of November. These were released by customs on Wednesday, December 19th and immediately taken to the UNEMI where they will be assembled by the engineering students.

The next phase is to assemble these chairs and prepare for training of recipient, community workers,students interested in the fields of community social work, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.

Together with Causes for Change International, Dominican University students and professors from the Graduate School of Social Work, Midwestern University Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy will travel to Ecuador to assist in training and preparation forcareer development in these fields of study at the University of Milagro starting in 2013.
